Each Five Year National Health Research Master Plan

The following health research master plans have been developed by the National Institute of Public Health in close collaborationship with the Council of Medical Sciences:

- First Five Years National Health Research Master Plan was launched in 1992-1996 with the technical support from Faculty of Public Health, Mahidol University, Thailand and financial support from IDRC-Canada aiming to build research capacity in Lao PDR.

- Second Five Years National Health Research Master Plan was developed in 1997-2001 after having the results of the evaluation of the First Five Year NHRMP implementation (1992-1996) aiming to continue on building and strengthening of health research capacity in the country,

- The Third Five Years National Health Research Master Plan 2002-2006 was established after having the results of the evaluation of the Second Five Year NHRMP (1997-2001) with the focusing on the strengthening of health research capacity

We are in the process of developing the long term strategic plan as the fourth five year national health research master plan which aim to strengthen the national health research system in Lao PDR(more information report of the NW in 2005 and report of the NW in 2006)
